I love these self-portraits by Luca Pierro for a number of reasons. First of course is the balance of cover. They’re dark, like most of us, you can’t see every single detail. Whether he meant for it to be so “deep” I don’t know or particularly care, I just know that’s what I can take from these images.
The second thing that really grabs me about these images is the variety. No two pictures look the same and you have to strain to see that they’re all of the same person. That’s awesome. It takes a lot to add variety to one subject and make them distinctly different. Kudos to him.
Besides all that, these pictures are just really cool to look at.
